Getting Started

Covid-19

As of 4/1/2020, all appointments will done via telehealth until further notice.

Initial Assessments

An initial assessment is a 60 or 90-minute session that is scheduled following a brief conversation by phone.  During the session, a complete history will be taken, feedback will be provided and a treatment plan will be developed. The assessment may include obtaining collateral information from a close family member or friend with your consent. Treatment plans may include recommendations regarding medications, therapies, lifestyle changes, coping skills, relationships and other sources of wellness. If it is determined that additional time is needed to complete this process, the session time may be extended if there is availability, otherwise a subsequent appointment will be scheduled. Extended sessions and/or subsequent appointments will be subject to charge.

Preparation

All new patients will need to complete the "New Patient Registration" forms prior to starting the initial assessment. We request that you complete and submit registration forms prior to your virtual appointment. Registration forms can be submitted to lotuspsychiatry@gmail.com. Please do not submit registration forms prior to having a scheduled appointment

Financial Policies

Insurance

Lotus Psychiatry & Wellness does not accept any insurance. We are considered an “Out-Of-Network” provider and are unable to file claims directly with insurance as a form of payment. Dr. Nicole Perras may come up as an in-network provider on some insurance databases due to her work in specialty training clinics at Georgetown University Hospital, however when she practices at Lotus Psychiatry & Wellness, she is considered out-of-network.

Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of service via credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Patients with health insurance will need to pay out-of-pocket at the time service and are encouraged to submit reimbursement claims to their insurance and utilize any out-of-network benefits. Patients will be provided with a specialized invoice that contains all information necessary to submit claims for out-of-network reimbursement. If you have any additional questions regarding reimbursement or would like to discuss our fees, please feel free to contact us at 240-428-4834.
